This story was first written several years ago now, but so far has never been published. Because of the favourable response of the children who have read it over the years, the author has decided to make it available in Audio CD form himself.

Nick Lucas, who is a professional actor, very kindly undertook to record the story, and his intuitive reading keeps the narrative flowing at an exciting pace.

Boon Kong
Boon Kong is the Evil Sorcerer the boys & Dotty find themselves up against when they are forced to escape from England back to Ancient China.
He has an absolute hatred of Pandas, and is systematically wiping them out as he advances down Prince Wat Su’s territory.

He is protected by the God of the Clouds, who is responsible for encouraging him in his seemingly unstoppable takeover of the Kingdom.

He has the ability to make special armour for his troops, which gives them a huge advantage against the army of Prince Wat Su.

With his dragons and impenetrable fortress, will the Time Travellers be able to defeat him?
Tommy Tan
Tommy Tan lives with his parents, grandmother and younger sister Mai Ling in a suburb of Manchester. The family own a Chinese takeaway business, and Tommy helps out in the shop, after school, answering the ‘phone, and doing the washing up.
When he goes into the attic one day with his English friend John Cresswell, he has no idea what consequences will result from that seemingly innocent action.
He is swept along into a terrifying adventure which spans the centuries, and is ultimately made responsible for trying to save the last few Giant Pandas on earth from being wiped out by an evil sorcerer, who is intent on taking over Prince Wat Su’s Kingdom. Join Tommy & the others as they battle against evil as old as time!
John Cresswell

John Cresswell is a friend of Tommy Tan’s who lives a street or so away. He too has a younger sister, called Joan. His father has only recently found another job in the rapidly-declining manufacturing industry, and is looking forward to taking the family away to Devon on a well-earned holiday. Mrs Cresswell is a no-nonsense mother who takes everything in her stride, and is the bedrock of the family.
Like Tommy, John has no idea that the few minutes spent up in the Tan’s attic will have such amazing consequences.
Whilst on holiday he has a run-in with the owner of a strange little bookshop, (Ferret-Teeth) who is instrumental in causing the boys to flee to Ancient China!
Monkey-God

Here is the mischievous advisor to Prince Wat Su, and his magician Chou Ping!

Summoned from the Imperial Heaven by the pleading of the Prince’s magician, Monkey pits his wits against the formidable challenge presented by Boon Kong.

He is the one responsible for pulling everything together, especially guiding the three modern-day adventurers safely back to Wat Su’s Palace!

It is Monkey’s plan of action which everyone has to rely on to save the day.

But will it be sufficient to defeat Boon Kong?
Dorothy Lim (Dotty)

Dotty is Tommy’s Aunt who lives in San Francisco, and who comes to stay with the family when Tommy’s Grandmother passes away.

She quickly becomes a favourite with the boys, as she is so different from anyone else they know.

She is a successful lawyer, glamorous, clever, witty, and yet very down-to-earth.

Her presence is also vital for the journey back into Ancient China; as without her knowledge of forgotten dialects, the trio would not have been able to use the device to transport them back through time!
